We recommend booking early (120 days before sailing, or 135 days for RockStar cabins) so you can reserve your top choices, score the best rates, and secure smaller-group experiences before they fill. Once on board, check the app and visit The Red Table on Deck 7 for any newly available slots—especially on sea days. This is also when you’ll find info on tender schedules and health protocols for each port.

Meeting and timing: Most Shore Things include tender boat transfers when required—just arrive 15 minutes early at the designated spot in-app.
Payment & Cancellation: Excursions must be paid upfront via the app, website, Sailor Services, or through your travel advisor. cancellations within 24–48 hours (depending on the tour) are refundable.
Safety & Insurance: Shore Things uphold Virgin’s health standards, but if you go solo, be mindful—missed departures may not be reimbursed by Virgin (unlike via Shore Things).
Third-party option: Some Sailors opt for independent tours (like Viator) for savings, but note you won’t benefit from protected timings or guaranteed return if delayed.
